Littmann Kulturprojekte and Job Koelewijn wish to congratulate Niki Reiser on the occasion of this great honour and consider it a privilege to work with him this year in Locarno.
Swiss soundtrack composer Niki Reiser arranged the soundtrack for the Real Fiction Cinema temporary art intervention on Largo Zorzi in Locarno. The soundtrack consists of 25 titles selected from his previous works, including three compositions from this year’s award winning soundtrack for the film “Das Blaue vom Himmel” as well as pieces from his other soundtracks from such films as “Jenseits der Stille,” “Das fliegende Klassenzimmer” and “Alles auf Zucker.”
Audiences have the unique opportunity to experience Niki Reiser’s soundtrack in the Real Fiction Cinema on Largo Zorzi in Locarno until 28 August 2011.
Real Fiction Cinema is at once world cinema and auteur cinema. The “film” we view is always the present – live. The music attempts to provide a background for each location’s mood and meaning through selected soundtracks. The audience experiences in a new and different way the phenomenon of memory (their own cinema memories) and familiarity with recognizable – or seemingly recognizable – places and musical works.
The cinemas on Largo Zorzi and at the Porto Regionale in Locarno, as well as on the Piazza Torre in Ascona, are open to the public free of charge until 28 August 2011.
